Biden’s Speech to the Nation – Pure Propaganda
The location, the ominous red lighting, the false, fear-mongering content of the speech and even the CNN news ticker, seemed straight out of some propaganda playbook. The only thing missing is a blown-up image of Trump’s face projected behind him, like Goldstein’s in Orwell’s 1984, to serve as the focus of hatred for the audience! For some reason, and I can’t imagine why(!), the CNN ticker was listing the misdeeds of Republican activists who had tried to rid the 2020 election result in Arizona of the consequences of fraud (breaking news?), and any news item that implied Trump is a criminal. It’s a strange coincidence!
Now that we know for sure that Joe Biden was actively involved in his son’s shady business dealings, thanks to Hunter’s laptop, we know that he straight-up lied to the American people when he denied all knowledge of such during a presidential debate. Interesting, then, that he should claim during this speech “it’s my duty to level with you, to tell the truth, no matter how difficult, no matter how painful”. But Mr President, it would certainly have been difficult and painful for you to admit to the American people that you had knowingly participated in your son’s corrupt “cash for access” schemes. Was it not your duty then too, while the voters were trying to determine your fitness for high office, to level with the American people and tell them the truth?
And what was this painful, difficult truth that the President needed to share? “MAGA Republican’s do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law.” That’s interesting, because I know many MAGA Republicans, and that statement does not hold true for a single one of them. President Biden, on the other hand, has been acting outside his Constitutional powers since the day he took office. Forcing government employees and employees of government contractors to receive emergency-use vaccines or lose their jobs, over their religious or medical objections, ranks high in my mind amongst his authoritarian abuses of power. And what of his own belief in the rule of law? Just ask any Customs and Border Patrol agent trying to secure our Southern border against illegal immigration. Indeed, this “truth” was very painful and difficult for you to share, Mr President, and not at all in your own political self-interest!
After a string of dire ironic falsehoods, there was a moment of delicious comedy at the end. In his speech, President Biden had implied that Trump’s MAGA followers wanted to install him as an unelected king. So, imagine my joy when, as Biden walked away from the podium arm-in-arm with Jill, the band played “My Country, ’tis of Thee”. It seems that his team of propagandists is not sufficiently well versed to know that the tune is appropriated from Great Britain’s National Anthem, “God Save the King”!
